the Band Scramble

This year at Bluegrass from the Forest, we will add the following to the band scramble.

2011 is the anniversary year of Bill Monroe’s birth. In honor of his birth year, we’d like to try the following for scramble participants; bands should include either a tune or song written by Bill Monroe. There are lots to choose from and you may already know an example of either one or both….an instrumental tune or a song (you may play a song as a tune…….without the lyrics).

You may want to bring along a chord chart or chord chart & lyrics to share with your scramble band mates, in case they may not know the selection.

Winning first place, will depend on including something created by the ‘father of bluegrass music.’

Let’s do Monroe and say ‘Happy Birthday Bill!’Have a bit of fun with this extra challenge!
